Gols
A gol is a finance goal. Gollog supports three types. Related: Logs · Overview · Sharing
Types
| Type | Intent | Typical create fields |
|---|---|---|
| Resolve | Pay a debt down to zero | Opening balance (debt) and a deadline |
| Maintain | Hold a float or credit line | One value that sets balance = target (no deadline) |
| Accumulate | Grow toward a savings target | Starting balance, target, and a deadline |
On every type you can raise balance. Product copy talks about balance and target — not a vague “amount.”
Balance and target
- Balance — money on the gol (ledger).
- Target — the goal side of the ledger.
- Plan — what balance should be on the schedule.
- Fact — what balance actually did over time (chart series).
Logs change balance, target, both, or neither (markers). See Logs.
Affect date
When you create a gol, its affect date is when that gol (and its opening balance/target) enters plan and fact history. The create timestamp itself does not move later.
List and focus
On Gols, you see your active finance goals. Off-focus gols sort last with a clear path to re-focus. Star and share controls sit next to edit where the product shows them.
Free vs Pro limits
The Free plan limits how many active finance gols you can keep. Pro unlocks higher limits and other features (repeating logs, custom templates, and more). Pro capabilities stay visible on Free; they are gated until you upgrade. See Billing.
Archive and lifecycle
You can archive or otherwise close a gol from its lifecycle menu when you no longer need it active. Archiving frees a Free-plan slot for a new active gol.
